FOXBORO, Mass. —Don’t look for Patriots running back Kevin Faulk to get all sentimental during his return to the New Meadowlands on Sunday.
Faulk tore his ACL during the Patriots’ last trip to face the Jets, and he returned to the field two weeks ago against the Steelers after a 13-month rehabilitation process. Faulk missed last week’s game against the Giants because he got pretty banged up in his debut, but it seems like a decent possibility he could be ready to go against the Jets.
“We’ll see what happens,” Faulk said. “It all depends on the coaches.”
Faulk has acknowledged certain steps in his recovery process—signing a one-year contract during training camp, debuting on the practice field Oct. 18 and playing in his first game in Week 8.
Yet, Faulk isn’t exactly one to get wrapped up in a particular environment. That’s why he said he doesn’t really care about returning to the building where he suffered the most serious injury of his 13-year NFL career.
“That’s behind me,” Faulk said. “We’re trying to win a football game. Nobody is worried about that. I guarantee that’s the last thing on anybody’s mind in here right now. It’s about winning a football game.”
