The Red Sox Foundation and the Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program will have a lot to gain from Friday night's episode of Extreme Home Makeover. They won't be getting a new home built, but the organizations will benefit from the special Veterans Day edition of the show.

The Red Sox announced Thursday that the Red Sox Foundation and the Home Base Program will in part benefit from the special edition of the ABC show that will air Friday night on Veterans Day.

The "Rise and Honor" special will look back on and catch up with some of the military-related shows from past episodes of Extreme Home Makeover.

"The brave men and women who serve our nation have earned not only our respect, but also our support when they return home," said Red Sox and Red Sox Foundation chairman Tom Werner. "What better time than Veterans Day to honor them and help raise awareness and funds for the critical programs that help the many service members and their families get the care they need and deserve when they return from combat."

Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz will also make a guest appearance on the show as the makeover team visits a family in Missouri, the home state of Buchholz's wife, Lindsay. Buchholz and other MLB stars will urge viewers to help give by donating to riseandhonor.org.
