Report: Mark Buehrle Being Pursued by Red Sox, Among OthersThe Red Sox could add some front-end quality to the back end of their rotation in 2012. It appears that the Sox are interested in Mark Buehrle.

The Sox are one of a number of teams pursuing the left-hander, according to Fox Sports' Jon Morosi.

Morosi reports that the Angels, Nationals, Rangers, Yankees and Marlins are also interested in the free-agent hurler.

Buehrle, a Type-B free agent coming off a four-year, $56 million deal with the White Sox, is reportedly seeking a three- or four- year contract. He's already visited the Nationals and Marlins.

Buehrle is a four-time All-Star who's compiled a 161-119 record and a 3.83 ERA in his career. In 2011, he went 13-9 with a 3.59 ERA in 31 starts.

The 12-year veteran is also remarkably durable, starting 30 or more games and elipsing the 200-inning mark each of the past 11 seasons. He's also won thee consecutive Gold Gloves.

This isn't the first time the Red Sox have been linked to Buehrle, as Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported just a few weeks ago that the Sox had showed some initial interest. We'll soon see just how interested they really are.
