Reports: Dale Sveum To Get Second Interview With Red Sox For Manager Job

Former Red Sox third base coach Dale Sveum is getting another look from his former employer for its open manager position.

Sveum, the hitting coach in Milwaukee, is scheduled for a second interview with the Red Sox this week, according to reports.

General manager Ben Cherington and ownership representatives will meet with Sveum in Milwaukee, The Boston Globe reports.

Sveum is also considered a strong candidate for the Cubs' manager job, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Sveum was the Red Sox' third base coach in 2004 and 2005 and took the Brewers to the playoffs as interim manager in 2008.
