Vote: What Is the Best Team in the AFC East? It's a good weekend to be a New York Jets fan.

Not only did the Jets take care of the Bills in Buffalo for their third straight win, but they watched the Giants hand the Patriots their second consecutive defeat, meaning there's a three-way tie atop the AFC East through nine weeks of the season.

The Patriots will travel to the Meadowlands next week to take on the Jets on national TV. In other words, things have gotten very interesting when it comes to the divisional race.

New England was considered by many to be the favorites in the AFC East heading into this season after putting together a 14-2 regular season last year. But a Week 3 loss to the Bills showed that not only are the Patriots not exactly invincible, but they'd have to worry about more than just the Jets.

The Patriots' defense has struggled mightily this season, again showing flaws in a 24-20 defeat at the hands of the Giants. The secondary has been especially questionable, which has some wondering whether New England would be able to succeed in playoff football.

The Bills started off the season hot, but they've now dropped three of their last five. It will be interesting to see whether they can get back on track and establish some consistency, which will have to start with improved defense and an emphasis on getting running back Fred Jackson involved in the offense as much as possible.

The Jets were once heading down the wrong path, losing three straight to the Raiders, Ravens and Patriots. But they've bounced back with the three straight victories, during which they've shown shades of the team that's been to two consecutive AFC championships.

There's still a lot of football to be played this season, and as of right now, we have more questions than answers. One thing that is abundantly clear, though, is that the AFC East isn't exactly a walk in the park for the Pats anymore.
