Thursday night’s tilt between the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins at the TD Garden is a battle between two hot teams.
The Oilers have won seven of eight while the B’s are winners of three straight.
Aside from a pair of Stanley Cup final meetings in 1988 and 1999, respectively, the B’s and Oilers don’t have many connections. Last year’s No. 1 overall pick Taylor Hall and No. 2 overall pick Tyler Seguin may have an indirect competitive rivalry brewing, but meeting just once a year may keep that “rivalry” too tame for consideration.
What the B’s and the Oilers have in common, however, is a retired goaltender. There’s been one goalie in NHL history to have won at least 100 games with both the Bruins and Oilers. Can you name him?
For a select amount of Bruins games this season, NESN and The Four’s will be teaming up to offer B’s fans the chance at winning a $50 gift card to The Four’s Restaurant and Sports Bar by simply answering a trivia question found at NESN.com/thefours. Questions will be posted at noon every afternoon on the day of a Bruins home game, unless otherwise noted.
