You could make the case that Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid was heading for a suspension after kneeing Senators forward Nick Foligno on Wednesday night in Ottawa. However, the NHL has acted, and the B's defenseman won't miss any time.

While McQuaid won't have to sit out any games, he will have to write the league a check, as the NHL has announced that the Boston blueliner has been fined $2,500 for the hit.

McQuaid was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct after the play which came at 17:45 of the first period.
