FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty will play Sunday against the Colts after missing two games with a shoulder injury. It was the first time he had missed a game with an injury since his senior season in high school seven years ago.

However, safety Patrick Chung (foot) is inactive, which came as a surprise after he breezed through a quick pregame workout with the team's medical staff. Chung was on the field for four minutes and moved very well, much better than his last pregame workout against the Jets. At the very least, it's a positive sign that Chung was a game-time decision, as he was ruled out earlier for the last two games.

Tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back, foot), linebacker Brandon Spikes (knee), center Dan Connolly (groin), linebacker Dane Fletcher (thumb), running back Shane Vereen (hamstring) and quarterback Ryan Mallett (not on injury report) are the Patriots' other inactive players.

Wide receiver Chad Ochocinco also returns to the lineup after missing last week's game against the Eagles, and offensive lineman Nick McDonald will be active for the first time this season after being promoted from the practice squad Saturday. McDonald is an interior lineman who will provide insurance at guard and center.

With Vollmer out, rookie Nate Solder figures to start at right tackle, and Ryan Wendell will likely start at center in place of Connolly.

Mallett is inactive for the 11th game, including his ninth straight. Vollmer is out for the sixth time this season. Fletcher is inactive for the sixth consecutive game. Spikes and Chung each won't play for the fourth straight game and their fifth game overall. Vereen is out for the fifth time. Connolly is out for the second straight week.
