John Carlson, please take a seat next to Evander Kane — you’ve just been inducted into a very elite club.

The club? None other than the Boston chapter of the Anti-Cooke Club, which Kane founded in 2010 after knocking out Matt Cooke just a month after the Pittsburgh pugilist tried his hardest to end Marc Savard‘s hockey career with a blindside elbow to the head.

On Thursday night, Carlson decked Cooke with a high hit in the closing seconds of the Penguins’ 2-1 win over the Capitals, as seen in the videos below.

Update: A report indicates that Carlson will not have a disciplinary hearing with Brendan Shanahan.
