In his first game as interim head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, former Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel led his team to a 19-14 win over the previously undefeated Green Bay Packers.
The Packers entered the game at 13-0, having won 15 straight regular-season games and 19 straight games total dating back to last season.
Green Bay's last loss came in their Week 15 showdown against the Patriots last season, which took place in New England on Dec. 19. Aaron Rodgers did not play in that game, and Matt Flynn got the start.
Rodgers did start in this one, though, but the Chiefs defense was able to hold him and the rest of the explosive Packers offense in check.
Ryan Succop converted on all four of his field-goal attempts, and Kyle Orton, making his first start under center for the Chiefs, threw for 299 yards in the win.
Crennel, who took over after the Chiefs fired Todd Haley this past week, served as New England's defensive coordinator from 2001 to 2004, lending a hand in all three of the team's Super Bowl wins.
