Rashad Evans Makes Jerry Sandusky Joke at News Conference for Bout With Penn State Alum Phil Davis (Video)

Boxing and MMA news conferences are always interesting because things might turn physical or you might catch a controversial comment. But few comments are as controversial — or as boneheaded — as Rashad Evans' this past week.

Evans made a comment referencing former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, who's facing child sex charges, at a news conference for his Jan. 28 fight with Phil Davis.

"I guarantee you'll be the first one to take a shot cause I'm going to put those hands on you worse than that dude did them other kids at Penn State," Evans said, much to the surprise of those in attendance.

What makes the comment even more insane is that Davis was a wrestler at Penn State before beginning his professional mixed martial arts career in 2008.

UFC president Dana White called Evans' comment "one of the dumbest things you could say," although he didn't seem too concerned about it at the time. Considering White fired Miguel Torres because of an "offensive" tweet this week, his lack of punishment for Evans is a bit surprising.
