Report: Celtics Trading Glen Davis to Orlando for Brandon BassThe Big Baby era in Boston looks like it's coming to a close.

The Celtics will trade Glen Davis to Orlando in exchange for forward Brandon Bass, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.

Davis is a free agent, so the deal will be a sign-and-trade. Bass has one year left on his current contract for $4 million, with a player option for $4 million in 2012-13, according to HoopsHype.

Bass, 26, averaged career highs in points (11.2) and rebounds (5.6) last season in 76 games. Davis, 25, posted similar numbers (11.7 points, 5.5 rebounds) but in nearly 3.5 more minutes per game.

Davis was a small-time contributor as a rookie to the Celtics' 2008 championship, and he had a breakout 2009 postseason run, averaging 15.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in 14 contests. However, he was never able to sustain that kind of performance and struggled with maturity issues throughout his last two seasons in Boston.

That Davis is reportedly going to Orlando is at the very least entertaining, as his light shove of a youngster standing courtside after hitting a buzzer beater in the '09 playoffs resulted in a mini-controversy among angry Orlando fans.
