WCVB had previously reported that Milbury is being charged with assault and battery on a child after his son got into a dispute with a player on the opposing team.
Deadspin did a little more digging, and according to parents that were in attendance, Milbury's son and one of his opponents were "chirping" at each other the entire game. Milbury reportedly yelled at the player as well before coaches told Milbury to mind his own business.
"One [opposing player's] parent who did not want to be named says that while the victim is a 'punk,' Milbury's son is 'a dirty player and a bigger punk, and not that good of a hockey player,'" writes Deadspin.
The report continues, describing the alleged assault that occurred after the game had finished and both teams were participating in a friendly shootout.
"Milbury grabbed the victim's facemask and screamed at him, asking 'What did you say to my son?'" it reads. "Milbury allegedly lifted the kid off the ground and shook him, yelling obscenities all the while, before dropping him roughly to the ice."
Mike Milbury's lawyer has also issued a statement to WBZ.
"[Milbury] simply intervened in an altercation between his son and an opposing player," it reads. "No one was struck, no one was injured and no one was threatened."
Millbury played for the Bruins for 12 seasons, including one game in which he famously beat a fan with a shoe at Madison Square Garden in 1979. He also coached the team to a Stanley Cup final in 1990.
