FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was absent from the media portion of Wednesday's practice.

Brady landed hard on his left shoulder late during Saturday's victory against the Dolphins, which could be a potential reason for his absence. It could have also been a day of rest at this point in the season.

Left guard Logan Mankins, who suffered a knee injury Saturday, was also absent. Right tackle Sebastian Vollmer (foot, back) still hasn't practiced since Week 12.

Linebacker Brandon Spikes returned to practice after missing the final two sessions last week with a knee injury. Left tackle Matt Light, who didn't play Saturday due to an ankle injury, was present for Wednesday's practice.

The Patriots were in sweats and shells for the outdoor practice. With the temperature dropping throughout the day, it might have been the coldest weather in which the Patriots have practiced this season.
