Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski Among Eight Patriots Named to Pro BowlThe Patriots received a huge honor Tuesday, as eight players were selected for the Pro Bowl.

Quarterback Tom Brady, wide receiver Wes Welker, tight end Rob Gronkowski, left guard Logan Mankins, right guard Brian Waters, defensive lineman Vince Wilfork, defensive end Andre Carter and special teamer Matthew Slater all earned the nod.

The eight Pro Bowlers were tied with the 49ers for the most in the NFL, and the Patriots' seven starters (all except Slater) were the most in the league. The Ravens were second with six starters.

Carter won't be able to go to the Pro Bowl because he's on injured reserve.

And, of course, none of the Patriots can go to the Pro Bowl if they advance to the Super Bowl, which makes Indianapolis a more enticing winter destination than Honolulu. The Pro Bowl is Jan. 29.

It's hard to argue with the Patriots' selections, but if you're looking for potential injury replacements, left tackle Matt Light, tight end Aaron Hernandez, linebacker Jerod Mayo, cornerback Kyle Arrington and punter Zoltan Mesko might be on the short list.
