BOSTON — Former Mets manager and current Red Sox skipper Bobby Valentine shares ties with both New York and Boston.

He will make the trek to Indianapolis on Sunday to watch the Patriots and Giants battle in Super Bowl XLVI with legendary Dolphins coach Don Shula, who extended the invitation. Still, with ties to both cities, Valentine won’t be torn during the showdown.

Despite cheering for the Giants as a youngster, Valentine offered his allegiance to coaching counterpart Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots on Monday night.

“This team from Foxboro that I went up and watched and froze my butt off,” Valentine said, when asked for his Super Bowl pick at the Hot Stove Cool Music event on Monday.
