Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is a man of his word.

Hancock made good on his bet with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, and donned a Tom Brady jersey during halftime of Sunday's Denver Nuggets-Utah Jazz game at the Pepsi Center.

The wager called for the Denver mayor to sport the Brady No. 12 Patriots jersey in public if New England defeated Tim Tebow's Broncos at Gillette Stadium on Saturday. The Pats, of course, cruised to a 45-10 victory.

"As a stalwart Broncos fan, it was certainly not easy to put on that jersey, but it was well worth the wager to support such an outstanding season," Hancock said. "The City of Denver was proud to come together to support our team. The Broncos gave us an exciting season and a dramatic playoff victory, and we can't wait for next season."

Hancock will also be sending 40 pounds of premium natural beef, including "Tebow tenderloins," to Menino as part of the bet.

Had the Broncos pulled the upset and defeated the Patriots, a Tebow jersey would have been draped over Boston's Paul Revere statue, and Hancock would have received a lobster dinner.

According to The Denver Post, Hancock worked as the Broncos' mascot, Huddle, as a teenager, likely making the loss even more tough to swallow for the Denver mayor.
