Everywhere you looked on Sunday at Gillette Stadium there were signs and banners wishing the Patriots luck in the AFC Championship game.
One of the bigger signs of support may have actually gone unnoticed, however.
As Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler was wrapping up his rendition of the national anthem, a C-5 jet flew over Gillette Stadium. The "Patriot Wing" aircraft, out of Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, Mass., featured a couple of special good luck messages for the Patriots.
Under the mammoth aircraft — which also features the team's logo on the plane's tail — there were two messages. One of them read "GO PATS" with the Patriots logo. The other, in a tribute to Myra Kraft, the late wife of Patriots owner Robert Kraft, displayed her initials, "MHK."
"It's awesome … being able to put the 'Go Pats' on the bottom of the airplane," Lt. Col. Gary Cooke told CBS-3 Springfield. "Then, we hear from the ground that it was awesome and it went well, and that's always good to hear, that our hard work pays off."
