NESN to Deliver Complete Coverage on February 2 at 10 PM

BOSTON — As the Boston Red Sox prepare to head to Fort Myers to begin the 2012 season, the team is partnering with NESN to host a town hall-style meeting for fans on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7:00 pm. The 2012 Red Sox Town Hall Meeting will be an interactive conversation between fans and Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington and manager Bobby Valentine.

"The value our fans continue to bring to the team is unequaled, and this town hall meeting is an opportunity for the organization to have an open and honest dialogue with the people who have been the touchstone of this franchise for so many years," said Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington. "We look forward to engaging with our fans face-to-face, and having a lively discussion that we will all benefit from."

The Red Sox Town Hall Meeting will be held at Worcester Technical High School in Worcester, Mass., and televised on NESN on February 2 at 10:00 PM immediately after NESN's Boston Bruins coverage. NESN's Red Sox studio host Tom Caron will serve as the host for the event.

"NESN is always looking for ways to give fans unparalleled access to the team," said Sean McGrail, NESN president and CEO. "Worcester is an ideal place for this event, giving fans in central Massachusetts an opportunity to interact directly with two of the team's top decision-makers a few weeks before pitchers and catchers report to Fort Myers."

"It is an honor to host the Red Sox and NESN at our school," said Worcester Technical High School principal Sheila Harrity. "We recently celebrated our 100th anniversary just like Fenway and look forward to welcoming ‘Red Sox Nation' to Worcester Technical High School."

Fans interested in attending the Red Sox Town Hall can send an email to NESNTownHall@redsox.com. Space will be limited and fans will be selected on a first-come first-served basis.

For those in Red Sox Nation who are unable to attend the Town Hall Meeting in person, there will still be an opportunity to participate by submitting questions in advance online at NESN.com/TownHall or via Twitter by sending a tweet to @NESN and including the hashtag #TownHall. Excerpts from the Red Sox Town Hall event will also be posted on NESN.com/TownHall after it airs on NESN.
