It looks like the Kansas City Chiefs are ready to remove the "interim" label from head coach Romeo Crennel.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs plan to retain Crennel, who took over as head coach of the Chiefs this season after Todd Haley was fired.

Crennel guided Kansas City to a 2-1 record upon taking over, which included a victory over the previously unbeaten Packers in Week 15. It's uncertain when the Chiefs plan to make an announcement, but Crennel is reportedly well-liked by his players and has a good relationship with general manager Scott Pioli.

Crennl served as the Patriots defensive coordinator from 2001-2004, winning three Super Bowls with the team. He served as head coach of the Browns from 2005-2008, and joined the Chiefs as defensive coordinator in 2010.
