The asking price for Matt Garza continues to climb.

Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer are dangling the right-handed pitcher and are looking to receive three prospects from a team's "A" list, according to The Boston Globe.

CSNChicago's David Kaplan also reports that the Cubs are "asking for the moon" for Garza and are prepared to wait until teams become desperate for starting pitchers.

The Yankees, Red Sox and Blue Jays are all reportedly in contention for Garza's services. The 28-year-old is an attractive option for American League East teams because he is accustomed to the competition after racking up 15 wins in 2010 for Tampa Bay. He also tossed a no-hitter for the Rays on July 26, 2010.

In 2008, Garza played an integral role in the Rays' run to the World Series. In the American League Championship Series, he captured two victories over the Red Sox and maintained a 1.38 ERA en route to becoming the ALCS MVP.

Last season, Garza enjoyed his best season in the majors, recording a 10-10 record with a 3.32 ERA, 2.9 BB/9 and 9.0 SO/9 in 31 starts for the Cubs.
