Hue Jackson was fired by the Raiders on Tuesday, and it wasn’t because he did a bad job. It was because he didn’t really have a chance.

After leading the Raiders to an 8-8 record, Jackson told CSNBayArea.com that new general manager Reggie McKenzie simply wants to bring in his own coaching staff for the team.

“You know I did everything possible to keep my job,” Jackson told Comcast SportsNet California. “McKenzie told me I am not in his plans for the future.”

Jackson also said that McKenzie informed him, “We no longer need your services,” according to the report.
