Report: Liverpool Joins Scott Dann Chase, As Arsenal and Aston Villa Are Also InterestedScott Dann could leave Blackburn Rovers, and head to Liverpool FC in the January transfer window. Skysports reports a number of Premier League clubs are interested in the defender, including the Reds.

Dann only joined Blackburn in August, when he left Birmingham City for £6 million ($9.2 million). The 24-year-old switched clubs hoping to form a formidable partnership in the heart of the Blackburn defense with Christopher Samba. But the want-away defender’s seemingly imminent departure from the relegation contenders has put Dann’s Blackburn future in doubt.

This season, Dann has made 11 appearances in all competitions for the struggling Rovers.

The former England U-21 international supported Liverpool as a boy. Liverpool and Arsenal were interested in signing him last summer, but last season’s injury problems made both clubs hesitant.

“Arsenal and Liverpool are also thought to be monitoring developments at Ewood Park with both clubs keen on Dann before his switch to Blackburn last summer,” the report says. “Both clubs expressed an interest in Dann last summer, but with the player having missed the second half of last season with a hamstring problem they had reservations over his fitness.”

Aston Villa could have the inside track in any race to sign Dann. Manager Alex McLeish worked with him last season at Birmingham, and will likely make an offer if he becomes available. But his love for LFC could see him move to Anfield instead.
