Allen Iverson Receives Megabucks Contract Offer From Indoor Soccer's Rochester LancersTime is running out on Allen Iverson‘s career as a professional athlete. But the 36-year-old former NBA superstar has a unique offer to try a new game.

The Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League have offered Iverson a lucrative contract, according to the club’s website.

“Allen Iverson is one of the premier athletes of our time,” Lancers’ vice president Rich Randall said. “With his athleticism and competitive hunger, I think he can be a great fit with our team and fans as we make an important playoff push, while also driving interest to an exciting, growing sport.”

If he accepts, Iverson will earn $20,000 per game, and net a $5,000 bonus for each goal he scores. He would also receive separate win and merchandise bonuses.

The team also offered to host him and his family during his time in upstate New York. But that stay will be short-lived, as the Lancers only have two games remaining on their schedule (plus any playoff games).

Iverson played 14 seasons in the NBA. He is an 11-time All-Star, won the Rookie of the Year award in 1997, and league MVP in 2001. The future hall of famer has been out of the league since 2010, but reportedly is looking to latch on with an NBA team.
