Brady Quinn Blasts Tim Tebow for Praying 'In Front of the Camera' Instead of With TeammatesTim Tebow is a polarizing figure and everyone seems to have an opinion of him.

Broncos teammate and fellow quarterback Brady Quinn‘s entitled to his own opinion of Tebow as well, although it might be colored by Quinn and Tebow competing for the same job.

In any case, Quinn’s no fan of Tebow and Tebow-mania, especially the media’s casting of Tebow as a humble, religious superstar.

“If you look at it as a whole, there’s a lot of things that just don’t seem very humble to me,” Quinn told GQ in an oral history of Tebow’s season. “When I get that opportunity [to play,] I’ll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?”

While Quinn’s statement stands out regarding Tebow’s religion, other NFL players weigh in with some trepidation. Trent Dilfer admits he worries that the Christian community is almost becoming a “cult following” due to their handling of Tebowmania, but doesn’t blame Tebow for it. Bills linebacker Nick Barnett also chastises Tebow for his use of football “as a measuring stick for how good God is.”

Tebow leapfrogged Quinn on the depth chart during the 2011 season, in which he led the Broncos to a 8-5 record beginning in Week 7 and to a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quinn entered the offseason on the Denver Broncos roster, but considering his pointed words for the franchise’s star player, that may change soon.
