Josh Hamilton felt the need to apologize to the public for his recent relapse in his recovery against alcohol and drug addictions.

The Texas Rangers superstar held a news conference on Friday and admitted that he had had three or four drinks in what he described as a "weak night" before calling teammate Ian Kinsler to pick him up.

Hamilton has chosen to make his recovery known to the public and used the news conference to maintain full transparency.

"I cannot take a break from my recovery," Hamilton said at his press conference. "For everybody that I have hurt, for fans, kids, people with addictions who look up to me, I apologize to you."
