Juan Pablo Montoya saw his chances at winning the Daytona 500 go up in flames on Monday. Literally.

Montoya’s car was racing into a turn on the raceway when something in his car seemed to break, causing the No. 42 car to spin out of control and crash into a jet drier truck, which holds up to 200 gallons of kerosene, along the way wall.

The crash set off a fiery explosion that lit up the Daytona sky, sending gallons of fuel out onto the track.

Both Montoya and the driver walked away from the crash and appeared to be unharmed.Rescue crews extinguished the fire and ultimately removed the burned vehicles from the track.

The 500 is now under its third delay since Sunday and could be facing another postponement if the race can’t be re-started soon.
