Vonta Leach, John Kuhn Highlight Fullbacks on Bleacher Report's NFL 1,000 ListThough the fullback position seems to be vanishing right before our eyes, don't tell that to the running backs benefiting from punishing lead blockers.

On some teams, like the Patriots, the position doesn't exist. For the teams that do use fullbacks, many are used in unique ways to fit the nature of each team's offense. Because of this fact, rating the fullbacks was quite the task.

Not surprisingly, the Baltimore Raven's dominant blocker, Vonta Leach leads Bleacher Report's list of top fullbacks. Highlighted by his excellent ratings in both pass-blocking and run-blocking, Leach has been the premier fullback in the league for several years.

Jed Collins of the New Orleans Saints comes in at #2. His superior blocking pushes him over the top of other top fullbacks, such as Jim Kleinsasser, Marcel Reece, and John Kuhn.

Bleacher Report's intensive scouting on fullbacks includes categories specific to the position, such as run blocking, route running, and agility.

The fullback rankings are the third to be released in a 20-part, 10-week series from Bleacher Report. After ranking the top players at their respective positions, the top 1,000 players currently in the NFL will be determined.

The next edition will focus on right tackles and is set to be released on Thursday, March 1.
