BOSTON – The Bruins won't be getting any reinforcements back for Saturday's matinee against Washington at the Garden.

Forward Daniel Paille (upper body) and defenseman Andrew Ference (lower body) continue to progress from their injuries, but aren't yet ready to return. Bruins coach Claude Julien stated both skated Saturday morning, but won't play against the Capitals. They are expected to accompany the team on its upcoming road trip, which opens Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Julien would not comment when asked about his selection of a starting goalie for Saturday. It's possible Marty Turco will make his Bruins debut, but Julien won't tip his hand before warm-ups.

Julien also stated his decision on who to scratch on defense won't be made until after the warm-ups. On Thursday, Mike Mottau returned to the lineup with Greg Zanon sitting.

For the Capitals, Mike Green will serve the first game of a three-game suspension for an illegal head shot. That puts Roman Hamrlik back in the lineup after being in coach Dale Hunter’s doghouse of late.

Tim Peel and Brian Pochmara will be the referees, with Jean Morin and Steve Miller working the lines.
