Darrelle Revis Calls Bill Belichick a ‘Jerk,’ Rob Gronkowski Pokes Fun at Revis Island, Jets’ Quarterback Situation

As if the Patriots and Jets didn't need any more incentive to hate each other, New England tight end Rob Gronkowski and New York cornerback Darrelle Revis managed to get under one another's skin on national television this week.

Most notably, Revis called Patriots head coach Bill Belichick a "jerk." Later, Gronkowski deemed Jets quarterback Tim Tebow as their starter — fully taking advantage of the Jets' budding controversy with Mark Sanchez — and knocking the notion of Revis Island.

Gronkowski and Revis appeared side-by-side in the SportsCenter studio to promote their candidacy for the Madden 13 cover. They were asked a series of rapid-fire, word-association questions, and since neither star is shy on personality, there were some great responses.

Revis was simply asked to describe Belichick, and the cornerback replied, "Jerk," before repeating the response one more time. When asked to elaborate on Belichick, Revis said, "Some of the comments he says about the Jets."

Gronkowski was then asked to describe Jets head coach Rex Ryan, and the tight end took a more politically correct approach by calling him an "entertainer."

Then, Gronkowski had fun. After Revis described Tebow as a "competitor," Gronkowski was asked the same question, and he labeled Tebow as the "starting quarterback for the Jets."

Later, on Revis Island, Gronkowski said, "That's why I put this Bahamas shirt on because I thought I was going to be there, but I don't see the ladies around. I don't see the beach. I don't see it rain, so I'm not on Revis Island."

But the two made up at the end of the segment. Of Gronkowski, Revis said, "He's a beast. He can make great plays, man."

And Gronkowski returned the favor by calling Revis the "best cornerback in the game."
