Division III Basketball Website Rooting Against MIT, As Students Flood Site in Support of EngineersWhile Harvard is getting most of the March Madness attention around Boston, a second school in town is also making a championship run of its own.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has made it to the Division III Final Four and squares off against UW-Whitewater on Friday. However, one website that is covering the games, D3Hoops.com, doesn’t appear to have much rooting interest in the Engineers.

In a reader poll on the site’s homepage, fans were asked “Who will win the men’s national title?”

While the other three participants in the Final Four were listed — UW-Whitewater, Illinois Wesleyan and Cabrini — M.I.T. was snubbed in favor of an option stating, “Anyone but the vote-stuffers at MIT.”

M.I.T. students reportedly blew the other schools away in previous iterations of the poll, as the website administrator battled against Engineers turning out in force to vote in favor of their school.
