The last time Randy Moss took to an NFL field he was still 33 years old and suiting up for his third team of the season.
Over two years later, Moss is finally back in the game and ready to prove himself once again to fans and critics everywhere.
After working out for the 49ers on Monday, Moss inked a one-year deal with San Francisco to play for the 2011 NFC runners-up next season. Moss was reportedly extremely impressive in a workout with the Saints just over a week ago and impressed yet again on Monday, catching passes from former NFL quarterback and current 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh.
"I’m ready to go," Moss said in an interview with Comcast SportsNet Bay Area. "I think you can hear from my last workout with the Saints and here today with the 49ers, I’m ready to get back into the game of football."
Moss' performance was certainly impressive, but apparently his attitude has shaped up too. The 35-year-old wideout explained that he feel he's been given a "bad rap" in the media over the past couple years and that he is ready to dispel that notion.
"I think when it comes to the world-wide sports media, I’ve gotten a bad rap . . . not being a team player and things like that,” Moss said of his soiled reputation. "I think that one thing I’d like the sports world to understand is the love and the passion I have for the game of football. I think every player wants to win and every organization wants to win."
Apparently Moss' love and desire for the game certainly haven't diminished, I guess the 49ers are hoping that his skill level hasn't either.
