After four years of 20 or more wins, the University of Rhode Island Rams may have had high hopes for this season. But after a disappointing 7-24 record, the school is making a change.

Jim Baron was let go as the University of Rhode Island's basketball coach position on Sunday morning, after serving in that position for the last 11 years. School officials met at noon on Sunday to let him know of this decision, according to The New York Times. He still had two years left on his contract.

Earlier this season, he was criticized after cutting their leading scorer, Jamal Wilson.

In his 11-year tenure, Baron never made the NCAA tournament.
