Training outside the game has taken its toll on Vicente Padilla, one of several pitchers competing for a spot in the Red Sox rotation this season, who has reportedly hurt his hamstring.

No, he wasn't carrying boxes around his home, like Yankees reliever Dave Robertson was this spring training when he broke his foot, or adjusting his child's pillow, like the unfortunate Brandon Inge in 2008. Padilla was just doing his job -– working in the weight room Monday –- when he strained his hamstring, manager Bobby Valentine told ESPN.

Valentine said it will take at least a day to see how badly Padilla tweaked the muscle.
