Agent: FC Bologna Receives £16 Million Offer for Gaston Ramirez, Liverpool FC Among Rumored SuitorsA mystery Premier League club has bid around £16 Million ($26.5 million) for FC Bologna winger Gaston Ramirez. The player’s agent confirmed the bid, and the Italian club will decide on the Ramirez’s future after the season, according to TalkSPORT.

“Bologna have received an offer near to 20 million Euros from an important club in the Premier League,” Talksport reports Pablo Bentancur told TMW. “Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do.”

The 21-year-old joined Bologna in August 2010 from Uruguayan club Penarol. He became an instant starter at the Italian club, playing primarily on the left side of a three-man attack.

He has played 30 league games this term, scoring six goals and adding five assists.

His impressive play over two seasons has earned him a number of admirers. He has reportedly been watched by scouts from AS Roma, Manchester City, Manchester United, Juventus and Liverpool FC.

In early November, Ramirez signed a new contract, which runs until 2015. It reportedly contains a release clause of around £12 million ($19.3 million), but that may not be the case.

Last month, the Metro reported Betancour telling Calciomercato.com that an English team had made an offer for Ramirez, but other teams were interested in his services. He will likely move to a new team in the summer.

“All I know for sure is that an English club is ready to take Bologna’s 70 per cent and Penarol’s 30 per cent in him,” Betancourt said.

It’s possible that Liverpool is the mystery team. The Reds reportedly have tracked Ramirez for much of the season. He was linked with a move in January, but the transfer never materialized.
