Mickael Pietrus Takes First Test, Begins Road to Recovery After ConcussionBOSTON — It seemed like months ago when Mickael Pietrus tumbled to the deck in Philadelphia, suffering a Grade III concussion and spending the better part of the next week away from the Celtics because the light and noise were too much for him to handle.

On Sunday, with those same 76ers in town only a little more than two weeks since his fall, Pietrus made another appearance at the TD Garden as Celtics coach Doc Rivers relayed more good news about Pietrus' road to recovery.

"He looked good," Rivers said. "Personality-wise, he's talking and talking loud again. That's a good sign."

Sometime in the past few days — Rivers was not sure exactly when — Pietrus underwent the first test he needed before he can be cleared to play. The NBA this season instituted a more stringent policy concerning the treatment and recovery time of head injuries.

Rivers has said he expects Pietrus to be back in time for the playoffs.
