Red Sox Look to Emerge Victorious in American League East Version of 'The Hunger Games'

Few will dispute that the American League East is the toughest division in baseball. And for that, this season should be a dogfight.

The Red Sox, Yankees and Rays are once again among the cream of the crop in the American League, and with the teams playing in the same division, there's no telling who will escape the regular season intact. In many ways, it's a fight to the death, much in the way of The Hunger Games.

A second wild card could allow three AL East teams to reach the postseason, but who survives the one-game playoff is anyone's guess. There's no doubt, however, that the Sox have their AL East foes in the crosshairs.
