Red Sox To Place Jason Repko on DL, Bring Up Lars Anderson to Possibly Patrol OutfieldBOSTON — The Red Sox recalled Jason Repko last week because of an injury in the outfield. Now, the team is reaching back down to Pawtucket to replace Repko, who has had an injury of his own.

With Repko battling a slight left shoulder separation, the 31-year-old outfielder is heading to the disabled list on Monday. The Red Sox will recall Lars Anderson, a first baseman who is attempting a conversion to the outfield in Triple-A.

Red Sox skipper Bobby Valentine could test out the 24-year-old's newly developed skills soon as he awaits Repko and Carl Crawford's respective returns.

"We'll talk to [Anderson] about it," Valentine said of playing him in the outfield. "We'll get the reports. He's here in case I want to use him in the outfield, maybe as a pinch hitter, left-handed bat."

Repko originally suffered the shoulder injury after making a diving catch — and subsequently crashing against the Fenway wall — during Friday's game against the Yankees.
