Koppen will visit the Titans this week, potentially Wednesday, according to The Tennessean. The Titans have desperately tried to upgrade at center this offseason but have lost out on Scott Wells, Chris Myers and Jeff Saturday.
Koppen, a fifth-round pick out of Boston College in 2003, broke his ankle in the 2011 season opener against the Dolphins and was placed on injured reserve. The Patriots replaced him with Dan Connolly, Nick McDonald and Ryan Wendell.
The Patriots re-signed Connolly last month to a three-year contract worth $6.5 million in base salaries and as much as another $3.2 million in reported bonuses, which is starting money. Since that deal, it's been assumed Koppen's days in New England were over.
With Monday's news that Koppen is officially looking elsewhere, it appears as though his impressive tenure in New England could soon come to a close.
