Report: Karl Alzner Apologizes to Brad Marchand at Bruins’ Team Bus Following Game 3

While it'd be easy to assume any apology directed at Brad Marchand from the Capitals would come from Jason Chimera, it was apparently Karl Alzner who wanted to clear the air following Game 3.

According to reports, Alzner apologized to Marchand at the Bruins' team bus after the game on Monday. The apology comes after Alzner caught Marchand with an elbow to the head earlier in the night.

"Sorry, man. You know I'm not like that,"  Alzner reportedly said to Marchand.

It's a rather strange twist to the plot, as plenty of talk surrounding the Bruins' win over the Capitals centered around Alzner's feud with Milan Lucic and Marchand's incident with Chimera.

Alzner threw Lucic in a headlock during a third-period scrum and eventually called Lucic a cry baby while wiping away invisible tears.

Earlier in the period, Chimera speared Marchand in the groin with his stick, sending the Bruins winger down to the ice in pain.

With all of that considered, one would think any apology coming from Alzner would be sent in Lucic's direction, while any apology received by Marchand would come from Chimera. But in a criss-cross of sorts, it was Alzner apologizing to Marchand for an elbow that actually flew under the radar.

You may want to whip up a Venn diagram to keep track of all this, but the underlying message is simple: Things have really kicked up a notch in this series.
