Six days of rest may have been the charm for Ray Allen.

The Celtics shooting guard, who missed the last four games with swelling in his right ankle, will be back in uniform Tuesday in New York, coach Doc Rivers told reporters Tuesday morning. Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe was the first to tweet the news.

Allen has had nagging soreness in his ankle for the better part of a month, costing him to miss 10 of the Celtics' last 14 games.

Tuesday will also mark the return of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce. Both All-Stars rested Sunday on the third game in three nights, and Rivers has said they will play against the Knicks.
