Will Daniel Bard Finish This Season for the Red Sox Starting or Relieving?Daniel Bard's first major league start is in the books and the results were, well, inconclusive.

The big righthander threw five-plus innings against the Blue Jays on Tuesday night, allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out six and walking only one.

He was clocked at 94 late into his outing, showing that stamina may not be a problem for him as he makes the transition from reliever to the rotation for the Sox.

While many called for Bard to return to the bullpen after the team's struggles closing games against the Tigers, Alfredo Aceves notched a save against Toronto on Monday night and, at a closer glance, the Red Sox rotation might be the bigger problem area for the team.

Entering Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Red Sox starters have posted a 7.71 ERA. The bullpen is slightly better, with a 4.35 ERA, so if Bard can handle it, the team may want to keep him going every five days.

Eventually, one would expect Andrew Bailey to return from his thumb injury to solidify the back end of the Red Sox bullpen, so Bard may not be needed once he comes back. Looking big picture, did Bard do enough to convince you the rotation's right for him?
