David Ortiz Leaves Game Against Indians With Sore Left HeelThe Red Sox have had their fair share of injuries, but losing David Ortiz for any length of time would truly leave a gaping hole in the lineup.

It's unclear if Ortiz will miss any time, but he was removed from Friday's game against the Indians due to a sore left heel, which he appeared to injure while legging out an infield single in the fifth inning. Ortiz was replaced by Darnell McDonald when his spot in the batting order came up in the seventh inning.

"David got that infield hit, and I haven't gotten the complete word, it seemed like when he [hit] the bag, he might have bruised his heel," manager Bobby Valentine said. "That's what was reported to me; bruised heel, couldn't go. So that's how I think he did it."

Ortiz was involved in a car accident on his way to the ballpark on Friday, but he was unharmed. The injury and the accident appear to be unrelated.
