How Many Home Runs Will David Ortiz Hit This Year? After a couple of years' worth of slow starts, David Ortiz didn't waste any time getting hot in 2012.

The team's designated hitter had an April to remember, slugging six home runs and driving in 20 RBIs while batting .405 over the team's first 22 games.

Big Papi's been a notoriously slow starter, but seems to have found his groove early on this season. The question now becomes whether or not he can keep it up. During those slow starts the last few years, Ortiz has rallied to always post respectable numbers year in and year out.

Ortiz only mashed two home runs through April last year, but smacked 10 in May and finished the year with 29. The year before, he also got hot in May and finished the year with 32 after only one through the first month of play.

The power numbers have wavered from the career-high 54 dingers he hit in 2006, but Papi has shown that he may be in the midst of a career resurgence in hopes of signing a new contract with the Sox after playing on a one-year deal. When all is said and done, where do you see Papi's home run totals settling?
