How Should the Red Sox Honor Carl Beane During Thursday Night's Game?Fenway Park and Red Sox Nation will never be the same.

When the Sox come up to the plate during Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Indians, the booming voice of PA announcer Carl Beane will no longer ring out throughout the ballpark.

Instead, the Nation will be forced to come to grips with the sad reality of Beane’s tragic passing after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday.

There’s no question that it will be an emotional scene throughout the ballpark when the team honors Carl Beane’s memory, however they choose to do so. They have announced that there will be a pregame ceremony to honor Beane, but haven’t specified yet what it will be yet.

The team could decide to go without any PA announcer for the duration of the game, to recognize the emptiness that many fans felt upon hearing news of his untimely death. Or, perhaps they would play a recording of his old lineup announcements, as a way to keep his memory alive. Maybe they would also find a replacement PA announcer, a close friend or family member of Beane’s, to help keep his memory alive by announcing the names like he did.
