Larry Bird Rips Pacers, Says He Can't Believe They 'Went Soft' in Game 5 Loss Against HeatThe Indiana Pacers are on the brink of elimination after getting run out of the gym in Game 5 against the Miami Heat.

The Pacers were beaten up and beat down by the Heat, who now take a 3-2 series lead into Game 6, which will be played Thursday night in Indianapolis.

Pacers president Larry Bird will be hoping for a better effort from his team in that one — a much better effort to say the least.

When speaking to the Indianapolis Star's Pacers beat writer Mike Wells, the NBA legend ripped his team's performance in Game 5.

"I can't believe my team went soft," Bird told Wells. "S-O-F-T. I'm disappointed. I never thought it would happen."

The Pacers could really be in trouble for Game 6 as well, as both Danny Granger and David West left Game 5 with injuries.
