Cincinnati Reds rookie third baseman Todd Frazier may have chosen the wrong career path. Instead of becoming a professional athlete, maybe training as an EMT would have been a better decision.
After Monday’s afternoon game aganist the Pirates, Ryan Ludwick and Frazier went to have lunch at a local restaurant. During the meal a patron close to them was choking on his food, and Frazier ran over.
“I gave two pumps and it came out,” he said afterward.
What the man was choking on ended up being a piece of steak. He thanked Frazier and choose to pick up the bill for the two Reds players, who he didn’t know played professional baseball.
On Tuesday, Frazier returned to the field and went 2 for 3 with a home run. Now being hailed as a savior, the rookie is hitting a respectable .278 with five homers. Cincinnati currently sits in first place in the NL Central leading the Cardinals by 1.5 games.
