Report: Jabar Gaffney Signs With PatriotsAn already robust receiving corps in New England just got deeper.

Former Patriots receiver Jabar Gaffney has signed with the team, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.

The Redskins released Gaffney this spring after one year with the club. He racked up 68 catches for 947 yards while with Washington.

Gaffney was a wide receiver for the Patriots from 2006 to 2008. He then signed a four-year, $10 million deal with Denver when Josh McDaniels was the head coach. He played for the Broncos for two years.

While with the Patriots, Gaffney was quiet for most of the 2006 season. He then caught 36 passes for 449 yards in 2007, then 38 passes for 468 yards in 2008, leading some to speculate that Gaffney would be a good fit to return to the Patriots in a utility role.

Gaffney joins a group of New England receivers that includes Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Brandon Lloyd, Donte Stallworth, Matt Slater, Julian Edelman, Chad Ochocino, Anthony Gonzalez and others.
