Jerry Sandusky's guilty verdict may be the perfect opportunity for adidas to get rid of some excess shoes.
Adidas first unveiled a pair of sneakers with decorative shackles on them in January and soon came under quite a bit of fire for what some called echoes of slavery. The resulting controversy eventually led adidas to pull the JS Roundhouse Mids from circulation.
But seeing as the nation's anger at Sandusky boiled over last week with his conviction on 45 child sex abuse-related counts, and the former Penn State defensive coordinator is locked up for effectively the rest of his life, perhaps a new complimentary pair of the shackle shoes for him could get adidas back in the public's good graces.
