Anderson Silva Vows to Break Chael Sonnen's Teeth, Arms, Legs at UFC 148Anderson Silva doesn't want to just beat Chael Sonnen at UFC 148. He wants to severely hurt Sonnen.

Silva expressed such through a translator during a media conference call on Monday, vowing to break Sonnen's face and every one of his teeth.

"What I'm going to do inside the octagon is something that's going to change the image of the sport," Silva said. "I'm going to make sure every one of his teeth are broken, his arms are broken, his legs are broken.

"He's not going to be able to walk out of the octagon by himself. I can guarantee that."

The fighters' upcoming bout at UFC 148 on July 7 is a rematch of a 2010 fight in which Silva successfully defended the 185-pound title by forcing Sonnen to tap out. Sonnen was very candid before and after that fight, though, even going after Silva's native country of Brazil.

Sonnen later defeated Brian Stann at UFC 136 last October, at which point he verbally went after Silva again — this time targeting Silva's wife and training partners. Silva, however, has remained silent for the most part, which makes Monday's outburst all the more unexpected.

"There is no fight in combat history that's got as much weight and as much emotion, not just from the fans and media but from the athletes participating, as this one," Sonnen said. "So, the stakes are completely different."

The emotion will only continue to rise between now and the fight's opening bell.
